First Friday Trolley Hop - 02.03.2012

The First Friday Trolley Hop is an art show, tourist attraction, street party and celebration of downtown Louisville that brings new visitors and new life to the Main and Market corridor. The Trolley Hop takes place on the first Friday of each month from 5-11pm, rain or shine. Most of the galleries close around 9 pm but the restaurants, clubs, and shops stay open later. The trolleys run until 11pm. The First Friday Trolley Hop is free and open to the public and can be boarded at any trolley stop along the route. FREE parking is available at Slugger Field, Main Street at Jackson, and the 4th St. Live! garage after 6 pm. Free parking is also available on the street after 6 pm. trolleyhop@ldmd.org

2012 Kentucky Derby - 05.05.2012

Edgewater Resort at Taylorsville Lake is the perfect place to experience The Kentucky Derby and only 30 minutes from Louisville, KY. The Kentucky Derby is a stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses, staged yearly in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race currently covers one and one-quarter miles (2.012 km) at Churchill Downs; colts and geldings carry 126 pounds (57 kg), fillies 121 pounds (55 kg). The race, known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate time length, is the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing in the United States. It typically draws around 155,000 fans..... The Kentucky Derby is one of the crown jewels of the elusive Triple Crown which includes the Belmont Stakes and the Preakness Stakes.

The accommodations are top notch, as well as the entire staff. The shuttle service is to die for. To put up with 6 "almost" gentleman and to take us around And still be smiling, may I say THANK-YOU! "This was a random but fortunate location for friends from PA & WI to meet for a week. And what a great week it was! Eight of us enjoyed lots of games, fun at the lake-boating and fishing, day trips to Louisville- Churchill Downs & Slugger Museums, to Frankfort for Kayaking/Tubing, to Mammoth Cave and to Shepherdsville for Go Karts. This house was wonderful! The location is great! We would recommend to others! W. & J. 8-22-2010
