Cottage Reservations Questions

1. Can I bring my boat to Edgewater?

Yes, there is a boat ramp less than 1/8 of a mile from Edgewater. You may park your boat trailer in the designated area within Edgewater. However, boat trailers are not permitted to be parked at the Cottage. In addition you may contact Taylorsville Lake Dock and Marina to make arrangements to daily boat slip rentals.

2. Can I park my boat at the cottage?

Unfortunately, during high levels of occupancy, all boats must be parked at our office's parking area with advanced arrangements being made with guest services. As an alternative, Taylorsville Marina offers daily boat slip rentals.

3. Is there a grocery store nearby?

Yes, Taylorsville Country Mart & Deli is less than 5 miles from Edgewater Resort. For those who don't want to waste their vacation time shopping, Edgewater provides a grocery service. Simply select the items you wish online and the items will be in the cottage upon your arrival. The charges will be applied to your credit card on file.

4. Additional Information

If you would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage during your stay at Edgewater Resort, please be sure to bring them with you. Spencer County is a dry county. The sale of alcohol is not permitted within the county.

Cottage Unit Questions

1. What time is check in?

After 4 o'clock until close. Our office hours are seasonal, so please check with guest services before you arrive. If you will be arriving after hours, please contact our office to make arrangements.

2. What time is check out?

Check out time is 11 AM.

3. Are linens provided?

The cottages provide bedding (sheets, pillows, and coverlets.) Cottages with trundle beds have one set of sheets, one pillow, and one blanket on the shelf in the closet. Our bathrooms provide two large plush cotton bath towels, two hand towels, two wash clothes, and one bath mat in every bathroom. We encourage guests to bring extra towels with them if they would like additional beach towels for the lake, hot tub, or are if they are staying for an extended period of time and do not wish to wash their towels. (As an environmentally conscious resort, we do not provide a daily towel service.)

4. Are the kitchens equipped?

Yes, our kitchens feature a dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator with icemaker, stove, toaster, and 12 cup coffee makers. Additionally, each cottage has service for 6-8, 1 large stock pot, 2 small sauce pans, 1 skillet, 1 baking sheet, 3 mixing bowls, strainer, small cutting board, basic cooking utensils, hand can opener, ice cream scoop, and cork screw. We provide 1 roll of paper towels, 1 dishwasher tab, 1 small liquid dish soap, 1 sponge, 1 regular and 1 decaffeinated Java Brewing coffee with two coffee condiment packets. Additional condiment items can be purchased through guest services.

5. Are there hot tubs at every cottage?

Yes, each of our cottages feature a hot tub on the rear deck or patio. To ensure that hot tub is ready and waiting for you, during the cooler months, the hot tubs are set at approx. 104 degrees and during the summer months the hot tubs are set at approx. 100 degrees.

6. Is there a place to grill?

Yes, we provide a park- like setting with two park charcoal grills, two picnic tables, and a playground area.

7. Are there washers in the cottages?

Yes, each cottage has a stacked washer and dryer. Please bring laundry detergent with you if it is needed. Otherwise, it can be purchased through guest services.

8. Are the cottages near the lake?

Yes, our resort is located on a peninsula that is surrounded by the lake on three sides. We provide hiking trails to the lake. As of July 2008, we will offer a “beach” type area (cleared lake shore) where guests can walk into the lake and will have a sectioned off area for swimming.

9. Are basic toiletries in the cottages?

Yes, each cottage bathroom offers 1- 1 oz. Shampoo, 1-1 oz. Conditioner, 1- 1 oz. body lotion, and 1 small bar of Edgewater's signature handmade soap.

10. Are pets allowed in the cottages?

We offer 1 two bedroom cottage and 1 three bedroom cottage that allows pets. Max of 2 small pets allowed. Additional cleaning fees are charged. Please call our reservation department for this service.

11. Will housekeeping come in while we are out on the lake?

To respect our guests' privacy, housekeeping does not come in during your stay.
